Communication Service for the Deaf Social Venture Fund (CSD SVF) is a results-driven, action-based and socially driven company. Our main goal is to reduce barriers to entry by developing innovative programming, partnership, and financing solutions. Through these solutions, we will remove communication barriers, work towards equitability, and encourage an entrepreneurial mindset for Deaf people who wish to drive community impact through their chosen social enterprises.
CSD SVF invites you to become a strategic partner in launching one of these many solutions. Your support would provide Deaf entrepreneurs with continuous bilingual support and resource access throughout the lifecycle of their businesses.

Meet Our Team
J. Heath Huggins
Heath Huggins serves as the Senior Director of Finance at CSD SVF. A Certified Public Accountant and Certified Treasury Professional, Heath has built a strong educational foundation, holding multiple advanced degrees: a Master of Financial Technology and Analytics from Wake Forest University, an MBA from Appalachian State University, a Master of Accountancy from Gardner-Webb University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration specializing in Business Administration and Law from Western Carolina University.
Heath brings a wealth of experience across industries, including state and federal government, non-profits, healthcare, real estate, small businesses, and public accounting. This diverse background has honed his ability to navigate complex financial landscapes with strategic precision.
One of Heath’s core professional passions is driving financial inclusion. He believes in empowering organizations to make data-driven decisions that lead to equitable financial outcomes and sustainable growth. By examining the intersection of organizational behavior and financial performance, Heath develops strategic plans that foster inclusion and create meaningful, measurable impact.
In his personal time, Heath enjoys golfing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and spending time on the lake. He values time with family and is dedicated to building relationships, businesses, and a culture of learning. Heath lives in Morganton, NC, with his wife, daughter, son, and their Goldendoodle.
Bryan Edwards
Bryan Edwards is a passionate Finance and Investment Professional dedicated to harnessing the power of finance for positive change. Driven by a deep-seated belief in the transformative potential of investing, he's committed to generating strong financial returns while also making a lasting impact on society and underrepresented communities.
Bryan and his wife, Jane, have called Austin home for the past three years, When he's not immersed in the world of investing, you can find Bryan building community through his nonprofit, exploring new restaurants, trying to remain physically active, or cheering on his favorite sports team. A passionate cook and avid traveler, Bryan loves discovering new cultures through their food, art, music, and history.
With a strong background in investment management, credit analysis, and venture capital, Bryan brings a wealth of experience to his role. His previous work at Commerce Trust and Ajim Capital has equipped him with the skills and knowledge to drive positive change in the financial sector.
